Student Participation

The Canadian Acoustical Association welcomes student presentations and encourages student participation at its Annual Meeting. The meeting provides an opportunity to learn first-hand about current research and activities in many aspects of the science of sound from the perspective of university, government and industry.

For students who are presenting papers, a travel subsidy is made available, upon completion of a Student Travel Subsidy application form by August 5th 2008. On the same form, students enrolled in Canadian universities may enter a competition for the best student presentation, for which there is a monetary award.

Students who want to reduce costs by sharing a hotel room with another CAA student registrant are encouraged to contact Ms. Hind Sbihi (sbihi@interchange.ubc.ca) for arrangements by August 5th 2008 or to check the box for Room-Sharing Program on the travel subsidy and presentation award form. Students will be contacted by the organizing committee. We cannot guarantee room sharing, as this is dependent on the number of registrants participating in this program.
